Submit to the 2026-2027 Issue
The Columbia Undergraduate Journal of Classics invites submissions for its 2026-2027. We welcome original work on the history, philosophy, literature, art, reception, and culture of the ancient world from undergraduates across all disciplines. These may include, but are not limited to, derivatives of research papers, term papers, and thesis chapters.
The guidelines are as follows:
Submissions should be between 1,500 and 8,000 words. It is expected that the length of the paper be appropriate to the style of work.
Please format according to Chicago Manual of Style. This means including a cover page, using footnotes, and a bibliography.
The paper must be written in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, with numbered pages and 1" margins.
If your submission is a derivative of a work previously submitted for academic credit, you must include the original work, the course for which it was submitted, and the faculty involved.
To aid us in our blind review, please remove identifying information from the body of the paper.
The title of your document should be your last name/topic (E.g. Yu/The Rise of Alexander).
Submissions are due by Friday, 10/30/26, with early consideration given to submissions before Sunday, 10/11/26. Any questions can be directed to cuclassicsjournal@gmail.com and/or the Editors-in-Chief, Jasper Chen (jtc2186@columbia.edu) and Naomi Yu (naomi.yu@columbia.edu). We look forward to receiving your submissions and applications!
